I've decided to add some of my quotes that I've written over the past 12 months. I am currently doing alot of writing and intend to expand on my thoughts over the past year and publish a book in the coming months! Love to you all and I hope you enjoy them!! XO
Sometimes when changes or set backs occur in our life, although unwanted, sad and sometimes painful, it is in preparation for something greater and more substantial to arrive in our life. Something even greater than we may have previously thought possible.
Wendy Shaw – 11/27/09
Most of what we fear is a result of our minds setting limitations to avoid risk that it perceives could end in disappointed, hurt or humiliation. When you’re mind is telling you no, take one more step knowing that what you seek is beyond your physical senses and everything you’ve ever wanted is there waiting for you to take.
Wendy Shaw 11/28/09
Life can seem unfair and sometimes those unexpected and unwanted circumstances that pop-up without warning, or even a circumstance you have failed to view with an objective eye, come at exactly the right time and are exactly what you need to push you forward and give you a glimpse of something totally unexpected, something that will benefit you in ways you could not have imagined.
Wendy Shaw 12/7/09
In your journey to anything worthwhile, the lights are not all going to be green, there will be traffic jams and delays and you are going to come across a detour or two. When that happens, you can either decided to turn around and go back or pull out the TomTom and search for an alternate route.

Keep Swinging
Life is a series of curve balls. That is what it seems like at least. One minute you are confident in your ability to hit one out of the park and then, just like that, life sends you a curve ball and you swing and you miss. Then the doubt creeps in. Will I be able to hit the next ball? Will I swing and miss and strike out? You begin to doubt your ability to hit a single, never mind hitting a homerun. You may end up frozen in fear and decide to stop swinging all together. The problem with that is, you can still strike out even when you are not swinging.
What is going to make you stand up and start swinging again? Is there something in your life so important to you that you will hold your head high and start swinging again? The worst thing to do is to give up all together on the game. Perhaps you were really good at it and will be again. Perhaps you weren’t so good at it, but you could become great.

What Are Your Resolutions?
So it’s resolution time. If you haven’t come up with any yet, it’s not too late. In fact it doesn’t have to be January 1st to make a new resolution. You can make a new start any day of the year you choose. I personally decided to start my diet on October 31, 2009. It was a difficult time to do so, because it was Halloween with all its residual candy, and then Thanksgiving with all the food, and of course Christmas which was a whole month of avoiding cookies, candies, gift baskets and just really good stuff everywhere you go. I could have said, “I’ll wait until after the New Year, it will be easier then”, but I am sure glad I didn’t wait. I’m pleased to inform you that I’ve lost 27 pounds since then. It’s taken disciple and a lot of hard work and exercise, but it was something that was very important to me. Which brings me back to you…..
If you could wake up tomorrow morning with the things (not necessarily material) in your life that you want most what would they be? In the same sense, if you could wake up tomorrow morning with the things you want least in your life, what would they be? (thank you to a very good friend for those provoking thoughts to ponder). What is it that is very important to you? What is it that you want to do or change the most?
It’s not easy making substantial changes to your life. It’s not easy making small changes for that matter. But in order to do so, you have to be willing to put the effort into making those things you want most a reality. Unfortunately, it’s not going to just happen and you can’t set back and say, if it is meant to be, it will be. Sometimes you have to step out on a limb, risk loss or failure, and perhaps even face fear and the fear of the unknown.
Start by making a list of everything you always wanted to do. Identify a few that are really important to you. Is there one that you want to work on the most? Consider what steps you need to take to reach that goal. If you are not certain what course to take to get to where you want to be, do some research on the subject, find someone who has been where you are and has done what you need to do and ask them for help. If you are still uncertain how to start, please email me. I love research and would be willing to help in anyway I can.
So, how do you eat and elephant? A bite at a time. We don’t need to know today all the steps to get to the goal line. We just have to make some effort and get through today. One thing for sure is if you take a small step today and another tomorrow, you will eventually end up where you want to be. As you make small accomplishments, they will turn into big accomplishments and you will give yourself the best gift you can – personal power and a belief that you can accomplish anything you put your mind to. I find the most important factor in success in anything I do is the support of people who sincerely care. With all the technology available today it is easier than ever to connect with like minded people who want the best for each other. I hope that we can help each other along our journey to our goals and become great friends along the way!
Peace and Love.

Happy New Year!!
I’m really looking forward to 2010. I am making my resolution now to post regularly and to start compiling more information for my book.
I’m really enjoying Facebook and am flattered by the number of people who respond positively to my posts. All of you have great feedback which would be a terrific contribution to this blog. As the year goes by, feel free to email me at bluejenaroo@gmail.com and let me know if there are topics you want to hear more about. I love research and I can certainly point you in the right direction if nothing else.
It is my goal in life to create a positive spot for you to stop by, read a bit, add a bit and maybe leave feeling a little better than when you came. We all have struggles in our lives and I believe that together we can make a difference to each other. You never know what kind word you may say today that will help lift someone more than you will ever know.
Peace my friends and Happy New Year!!

Ask And You Shall Receive
Sometimes when you least expect it, a person, event or circumstance appears to you with the intent to change the entire course of your life. This may happen to you more than once in your life. Perhaps you’ve even ignored it in the past and didn’t listen to the message being sent to you. Sometimes we ask for help from above, and when we don’t get the answer we’re looking for, we ask again. “Please, show me the answer”…“Sorry, please show me the answer, that wasn’t what I was looking for”. I have asked and asked again. One day after asking for a sign (again), I heard a voice in my head say, “You wanted an answer, I sent you an answer, now you have to listen and start acting”. Of course I knew exactly what it meant. So I did it. I listened and took a big leap on blind faith; listened and just trusted that this was everything I was looking for. And it was; it is.
You shouldn’t expect an easy answer when faced with adversity or change. You just won’t find one. Approach it with an expectation of having to put forth considerable effort in order to construct meaningful changes in your life. After all, do you really want to chance your current situation? What can you do today to change your tomorrow for the better?
If you are constantly overlooking the messages being sent to you on the answers you seek, you are most likely missing out on something amazing.

Fear is a four letter word
There was a period of time in my life when I was afraid to walk to the mailbox. Literally. I would virtually have a panic attack and wouldn’t be able to breathe just walking from my house to the mailbox. God forbid I had to drive the mile to the school to pick one of my kids. I cried a lot and wondered where I had gone. This wasn’t me, this wasn’t my life. What the heck happened to the girl I was 10 or 15 years ago. I was going to take off and go to college out of state, be successful and someday president of my own company. I would be physically ill if I left the house by myself. At first it wasn’t everywhere, it started by having a panic attack in the grocery store, then I didn’t go there anymore; then another in a different store, I didn’t go there again either. Every time I had a panic attack, I would avoid the location of where I was at the time of the attack, so not to cause it to happen again. Pretty soon, I started worrying that I would have an attack, so I wouldn’t go anywhere by myself. I was afraid of losing control of myself in front of others.
There came a point in time when I decided that things needed to change. I wanted my life back and I needed to do something about it. I felt like I was going crazy. It wasn’t easy and I was very scared. I began by forcing myself to go out to the mailbox. I hated it, but I did it, because I knew deep down that the only way to get over my fear would be to face it head on. I started to venture out away from home more. Instead of going to the little beach where I felt safe and had had no panic attacks, I went to the big beach with all the people. When the small steps started going well, I decided to take on the big challenges. I remember the night that Biddeford Youth Hockey held its annual board meeting. They were looking for a fundraising director. I decided this was going to make or break me. I remember telling myself “You are going to do this whether you like it or not”. I was terrified. I got almost there, and decided, I don’t really HAVE to do this. I can turn around and go home and no body will know. Well, I knew. That was the biggest problem of all. So I drove to the meeting, throwing up a few times along the way and became the fundraising director and proceeded to have a great hockey season and year. Once I made the decision to move forward with my life, other opportunities began to present themselves. I received a call from a friend who was hiring an analyst in her department. This would mean I would have to actually drive 40 minutes to work every day?! So I did it. And it was horrible for the first couple of months. But I did it. I made a decision to not let my fear run my life. I decided to run my life. I decided to tell my body and myself who was boss and how I was going to run the show.
That was so many years ago. Fear comes in different shapes and sizes and afflictions. But the cure is all the same. Taking control over your mind and telling yourself you must do something. Once you are successful at a certain task, it is a building block to the next step. You will literally be able to pull yourself out of what seems like an impossible situation into what you envision for yourself. To this day, I still have to remind myself of this fact. That I can chose to fear or chose to live life the way I want to. But it is all up to me.
"Fear cannot exist in the presence of faith ... Fear only exists because you feel that you are not in control. Give up the need to be in control, take a leap in faith and fear will vanish as the mists in the morning sun." author unknown

Weathering the storm
Are you uncertain of what the future holds for you or whether you can weather the storm? I hope you will enjoy the following which I recently wrote:
There is a small tree standing in a meadow with withered leaves from long days of scorching heat and little water. As the wind gently blows through its branches each day it loses its leaves one at a time until it looks sparse and ready to perish. As the cold approaches and its leaves are gone, it is an uncertainty if the tree will be able to withstand another harsh season or will die trying to survive the barren cold covered in a blanket of icy white. As it sleeps through the winter its will for survival is renewed and a new hope for tomorrow rises. Will this season be better? Will I bear fruit this year? Will the harsh elements kill my hope for a better tomorrow? On a beautiful spring morning it awakes to the warm sunlight melting the snow cover which is now providing live giving support and assurance of a better tomorrow. It now beams brightly with the hope of a new season and the expectations of a better tomorrow.
